1. Château de Miromesnil

A historic Norman monument with its own chapel, gardens and a vegetable garden. You can add a Touareg tent for the reception, and the party runs until 4am. The next day (10am to 4pm) is included, so the celebration doesn’t end at midnight. The venue is 15 minutes from Dieppe, and the team offers personal accompaniment for €400, which is a bargain.

A 16th-century château listed as a Historic Monument, set in a 302-acre park. It feels human-sized and intimate, not grand and cold. You get a small chapel for the ceremony, a 14th-century barn for cocktails, a 19th-century Charretterie barn with views of the château, and a cider house on the estate. Tables and chairs for 80 are included, and guests can pay for their own bed and breakfast rooms, with the amount deducted from your invoice. A lovely touch for the budget.

This one is a decor lover’s dream, and it comes at a price that is hard to beat. The decor package is already included: 10 round tables, 100 chairs, white tablecloths, porcelain and glassware, candlesticks, lanterns, a wedding arch, a candy bar and a secular ceremony desk. You walk in and the styling is done. Inside it seats 50 people for dinner (75 buffet-style), and with a barn tent you can go up to 135.

4. Château de Bouelles

A Norman château with space to breathe. The grounds offer several outdoor ceremony spots, and there is a pool, a tennis court and a bocce court, so your guests will never be bored between events. Plan on a relaxed, family-weekend feel, not a polished showpiece. The interiors are about 20 years old with basic bathrooms, but the setting makes up for it. You can also use the venue throughout the week.

5. Terre Ugo

For a couple who dreams of Provence. A 17th-century lavender farmhouse on a 17-acre estate near Aix-en-Provence, with a boho, natural look. In June and July you can say your vows and even eat dinner in the lavender field. Tables, chairs, a ceremony arch and a kitchen for your caterer are all included, and there’s a barn with a dance floor and air conditioning for the late hours.
